May here, among thy native hills. In , Eliot celebrated the one hundredth anniversary of its incorporation as a town. As part of the weeklong-event taking place from August 6 to 13, , the town invited all residents and former residents to return for the festivities. A welcome home route, which also served as a parade route, extended throughout the town. This house on Pleasant Street was one of many along the route to. The celebration marking the one hundredth anniversary of Eliot s incorporation as a town was held in As part of the festivities, the houses along the parade route were decorated with patriotic bunting. The town selectmen hired local photographer Ira M. St. Clair to photograph the houses. The images were later made into postcards by St. Clair studios.
